Resentment

When things don’t turn out the way we had anticipated, one of the many emotions one can harbor towards our condition is resentment.
Feelings of animosity and distrust rattle our brains and lead us down the path of suffering.
The negative polarity of resentment has such a powerful gravitational pull that when embodied has the enticing and invigorating feeling of power.
It’s therefore understandable why it’s so easy to succumb to this way of feeling. It provides us with the sense of control, righteousness and meaning that we so clearly lack.
But resentment asks for something in return for the feeling that it loans you. And every debt must be paid.
It strips away your capacity to reason, your drive in purpose and the potential to pursue true meaning in this life.
So I would pledge against taking the deal with resentment and instead work towards understanding, compassion and letting go.
