Let Go

We hold on to the past with a grip that's too tight. With a fixation so heavy on the wrongs done to us. Unable to forgive ourselves for the sins we’ve committed. Always there. Always present. Always reminding us of what could have been.

Let go of any notion that the past can change. Understandably, we identify so heavily with the events in our history and logically it’s what brought us to this point. But it isn’t who we are.

Let go of the idea that it could have been so perfect. We idealize the memories of the past but forget that they exist within a prism distorted by nostalgia. Of pleasure or pain. Catered to fit within the narrative you’ve built for yourself. One of a victim. Of the fantasy we so wholeheartedly indulge in.

The illusion that all men are born into, that shackles us to the worlds of egocentric thought and unconscious drive, have a grip on our souls. The burden of conforming to these worlds will bring you to your knees and into suffering. It's okay. Carry this burden no longer. Seek detachment. Let go.
