Awareness to Behaviors

Don't ignore the signs. When it comes to others and ourselves, it's important to pay attention to the details in a given social interaction. Every action can be attributed to some form of logical thought, emotional drive or higher psychological system. Verbal and nonverbal means of expression (i.e. vocabulary, syntax, vocal tonality, tempo, eye contact, facial expressions, body language, movement, space, context, intent, etc.) are the tools used to construct the narrative of a particular setting.

When you act on the world, you are having a direct and indirect influence on others. That influence has the potential to change what others may think, feel, say or do. The possibilities are endless when it comes to having an impact on someone. But most neglect what others may be experiencing and how we might be causing a certain reaction.

An awareness of the behaviors that occur, not just from others but also from ourselves, can help us correct means of expression that tend to be unfavorable. A lack of such awareness will bring about inconsistent and possibly negative outcomes which only further distances us from the people we mean to connect with.

So let us orient ourselves towards the behaviors of the environment and subject. Let us distinguish what type of behavior might be occurring and the cause of such reaction. And let us calibrate ourselves in ways that bring us to a position where all parties may experience a momentum beyond all of us. One of deep meaningful connection.
